Digital test field for cooperative, connected and automated mobility Ingolstadt
About the project
IN2Lab is a key project in the development of the digital test field for automated and connected driving Ingolstadt, also called “First Mile”. The test track connects the Ingolstadt-Süd motorway junction with the future IN-Campus technology park. The vision is to be able to drive an autonomous vehicle from the motorway via urban streets to a multi-storey car park. To achieve this, the project equips the roadside infrastructure with sensors, communication modules and IT, and set up a control centre (“Mission Control”). The infrastructure is the technical basis for an open innovation laboratory for academia, start-ups and companies.
